Photos of the master: Dario Argento

My favorite director of all time is the Italian horror master Dario Argento. Ever since i caught Tenebre(under the video title of Unsane) and Deep Red on late night TV, I've been a changed man. Tenebre soon became a favorite of mine, that i could watch a million times in a row, to me its a near perfect cult film.

Argento's films even at his worse(2004's The Card Player) still have great camera work and music and enough to make them watchable at least once. With his first movie, The Bird with the crystal plumage(1969) to Giallo(2009) he has pushed horror and thrillers to new levels and been the influence for many directors since.

Things to look for in Argento films:
black glove killers
amazing pov camera work
odd use of animals
fever dream lighting
death scenes that are scary as hell and unbelievably beautiful at the same time
great use of soundtrack mixed with image

Favorite argento flick:Tenebre(1982)

Least favorite argento flick:The Card Player(2004)

Most underated:tie between Mother of Tears(2007) and The Cat o'nine Tails(1971)
